Summary: "Needs To Be 24 Bit Remastered"
Testament "The New Order" is great metal cd. But Atlantic Records has done nothing to improve the recording and volume quality. While other labels are remastering their metal releases Atlantic has done nothing. The description of Testament "The Legacy" says it has been remastered. I have it, it doesn't sound like it has been remastered. So Atlantic still has done nothing to improve their metal releases. "The New Order" and other Testament Atlantic Records releases need to 24 bit remastered. But Atlantic Records are too stupid and ignorant to do anything about it.

Summary: "Testament's Master of Puppets"
Testament has been around for almost as long as Metallica, and Iron Maiden, yet have to date no commercial success, and could almost be billed as the Anvil of the Bay area thrash scene. How is it possible for one of the most influential metal bands to be completely unknown to almost everybody but the most hardcore metal fan. What a conundrum. If anything it speaks to the depravity of the metal fan who let legendary bands, such as Testament, Overkill, Exodus, Death Angel, Etc. go completely unnoticed while their fellow act, Metallica sells a hundred million albums and enters the rock and roll hall of fame. Ridiculous.
The New Order is a must have for all fans of thrash, and if you consider yourself one, and don't have it, reconsider yourself, and go follow the Jonas Brothers. This release is as metal as it gets with classics such as Eerie Inhabitants, The New Order, Trial By Fire, and just about every other song on the album.
Testament starts to slowly move away from the classic horror, and occult themes they sang about in their first album, and gets a little political with some of their lyrical content, yet still remains completely metal. Which is pretty much where they have stayed with their expressive implication; a little demonic, a little real life, and totally brutal. This is probably Testament's best classic album, and should be a part of every metal heads library.

Summary: "the best album"
This is by far the best testament album ever. Fast heavy great solos. This is could really compete with metallica or any of the huge thrash bands out there. If you are a huge thrash/ speed metal fan please pick this album up.

Summary: "Second best thrash metal album ever"
This is another solid offering from Testament, and is good from the start to the end.
While I list the Legacy as the best thrash metal album ever, the New Order is literally every bit as good, it's just the Legacy was the bands defining album as it came first.
The album did not sell too well for the band, possibly because MTV was too big on Metallica, Guns N Roses and Motley Crue to promote bands like Testament, certainly not because the album is lacking in material.

Summary: "The sophmore effort."
Testament's second album was an advance similar to the jump Metallica made from Kill Em All to Ride The Lightning.
The music matured, as did the lyrics.
Powerful, angry, melodic.
It was The Legacy but much more mature.
A must have for any Testament fan. And a must have for any of the new kids who would like to find out where todays bands got their inspiration from.
